How I Live Now Film

On the day I purchased the DVD Filth I also purchased the DVD How I Live Now. They also came out the on the same day in Cinemas in the UK and they came out on the same day on DVD release which I thought was pretty cool. Now I had wanted to see the film when it first came out in cinema but I never did for some reason. Now the reason why I wanted to see this film was because it was Saoirse Ronan's new film.

Now I purchased the book before buying the film but I didn't want to read it because I didn't want to spoil the plot for myself. However after seeing the film I will read the book and I can't wait to. I did really want to read the book before seeing the film but I managed to resist and wait.

The film which is based from the book is about an American girl who is sent to the English countryside to stay with relatives. She finds love and purpose while also fighting for her survival as world war three unfolds around her. It's also a love story about two people who are separated, a boy and girl and they try and find there way back to each other.

Saoirse plays the American girl and her character is called Daisy. I really love her character's style of clothing in this film. She is just so cool and chic with her outfits in the film. I think Saoirse has developed her character very well in the film. I love how you can hear her thoughts at the beginning of the film and how she's not very likeable at the beginning but after everything that happens you can tell that her character has changed, because she has gone through so much and she doesn't use her willpower for stupid stuff any more.

The cinema photography in this film is just stunning, some of the scenes are so vibrant with the colours and it just fits in perfect with the film. I also think the soundtrack for this film is stunning four of my favourite songs are Lost Map / The Hawk by Jon Hopkins this is a beautiful instrumental piece, I love anything with a piano in. The next song is Home (Jon Hopkins Remix) by Daughter I absolutely love this song. The third one is Gardens Heart by Jon Hopkins and Natasha Khan this is an amazing song and Saoirse Ronan is in the music video for this song, she did the film first and then the music video. It's also a beautiful music video with some creative and interesting shots as well as being a beautiful song. The fourth song is Do It With a Rockstar by Amanda Palmer and The Grand Theft Orchestra this is such a cool song and fits in with the film really well.

Overall I would recommend the film if you love love stories and drama.

I would also love to try and find the merchandise pack which contains a branded note book, headphones and also sunglasses which are worn by Saoirse Ronan in the film.
